What is AB Fitness?
AB Fitness is a private personal training studio with three locations in East Meadow, Massapequa, and Oyster Bay on Long Island.
We help busy people get stronger, feel better, lose weight, build muscle, and stay consistent without wasting time trying to figure everything out on their own.
AB Fitness is not a regular gym. You are not paying for access to equipment. You are paying for coaching, structure, accountability, and a personal training plan built around your body, your goals, and your current fitness level.
Every session at AB Fitness is led by an AB Master Level Trainer.
All training takes place inside one of our AB Fitness Personal Training studios. We do not travel to homes.
How does the personal training program work?
Every member starts with a private conversation with one of our coaches. We talk about your goals, injury history, schedule, past workout experience, and what has made it hard to stay consistent in the past.
From there, we build a personal training plan that fits your body and your needs. When you come in for your sessions, a coach guides you through the workout, checks your form, adjusts exercises when needed, and helps you keep making progress.
You do not have to walk in and guess what to do. We take care of the plan, the coaching, and the structure.
Why is availability limited at AB Fitness?
Availability is limited because every member gets coaching, attention, and a personalized plan. We keep our sessions small so our coaches can watch your form, make adjustments, and help you train safely.
We are not trying to pack the room with as many people as possible. Our goal is to make sure each person gets the support they need.
Availability changes by location and schedule. The best next step is to request more information, and our team will let you know what openings are currently available.
Is the personal training 1-on-1 or small group?
AB Fitness offers both 1-on-1 personal training and small group personal training.
Our most popular option is personal training in small groups because it gives you coaching, structure, support, and flexibility at a lower cost than private 1-on-1 training.
Small group sessions are capped with an ideal 1 coach to 6 client ratio, so each person still gets attention from the coach. This is not a large fitness class where everyone is forced to do the same thing.
1-on-1 personal training is also available and may be a better fit for someone with more serious limitations, specific injuries, or a need for a fully private setting.
How are my workouts customized to me?
Your workouts are built around your goals, injury history, strength level, and how your body feels that day.
For example, if you come in with knee pain, shoulder discomfort, back tightness, or neck pain, your AB Master Level Trainer can adjust the workout so you can still train safely.
We can change exercises, adjust range of motion, lower the weight, or choose a better movement for your body.
That is one of the biggest differences between AB Fitness and a regular fitness class. You are not forced to do the same workout as everyone else.
Can I go to AB Fitness on my own and work out without a trainer?
No. AB Fitness is not an open-access gym.
Every session is coached by a personal trainer. We do this because most people get better results when they have structure, coaching, and accountability.
Your coach will show you what to do, help you use proper form, make sure you are training safely, and adjust your workout when needed.
What can I expect from the workouts? What kind of equipment will I be using?
Our workouts are built around strength training, proper form, mobility, and long-term progress.
We focus on exercises that help you build muscle, improve strength, support healthy joints, and move better.
You will use equipment like dumbbells, cables, benches, suspension trainers, and other strength training tools based on what your body can handle.
Your workout will be adjusted to your current ability. Our coaches will challenge you, but they will not give you exercises you cannot do safely.
I feel nervous about starting. Is AB Fitness beginner friendly?
Yes. Many of our members were nervous before they started.
Some had not worked out in years. Some had never used weights before. Some were worried about being judged, keeping up, or not knowing what to do.
That is exactly why AB Fitness is built the way it is. You do not need to be in shape before you start. We meet you where you are and help you build from there.
Our studios are private, supportive, and beginner-friendly. You will have a coach guiding you the whole time.
What if I can't keep up?
You do not have to keep up with anyone else.
At AB Fitness, the goal is not to compete with the person next to you. The goal is to train at the right level for your body.
Everyone works at their own pace. Your coach will choose the right exercises, weights, and modifications for you.
Whether you are a total beginner, coming back after an injury, or getting back into personal training after years away, we will help you start safely.
I am dealing with an injury. Is AB Fitness for me?
In many cases, yes. We work with many people who have knee pain, back pain, shoulder issues, arthritis, old injuries, joint pain, or past surgeries.
The key is choosing the right exercises and training with proper form.
Our coaches can modify your workout so you can build strength without beating up your body. We focus on helping you move better, get stronger, and train in a way that supports long-term health.
If you have a serious medical issue or are unsure if you are cleared to exercise, please speak with your doctor first.
Is AB Fitness like a regular gym or fitness class?
No. AB Fitness is different from a regular gym and different from a large fitness class.
At a regular gym, you usually have to figure everything out yourself. In a large class, everyone often follows the same workout, even if their goals, injuries, and fitness levels are different.
At AB Fitness, you get coached personal training. Your plan is built around you, and your coach is there to guide you, correct your form, and make changes when needed.
That is why our members choose AB Fitness instead of trying to do it all on their own.
Are the Personal Trainers at AB Fitness certified?
Every session at AB Fitness is led by an AB Master Level Trainer.
An AB Master Level Trainer has completed our in-house development program and coached more than 1,000 personal training sessions before achieving Master Level status.
Coaching experience matters. Our coaches are trained to guide safe strength training, adjust exercises around aches and pains, check form, and help members stay consistent.
Anthony, the owner of AB Fitness, has over 25 years of experience in the fitness industry and helps train and oversee the entire coaching team.
How big is the personal training facility AB Fitness?
AB Fitness studios are private and intentionally small.
We are not trying to be a large gym with rows of machines and crowds of people. Our studios are built for coaching, attention, and personal training.
The smaller studio setting helps create a more comfortable environment with fewer distractions. You can focus on training, getting stronger, and following your plan.
Small Studio, Big Results.
Will there be cardio?
Our main focus is strength training.
Cardio can be helpful, but strength training is the foundation for building muscle, improving strength, supporting joints, and staying strong as you age.
We do not believe you need to spend hours doing cardio to get in better shape. Plus, you shouldn’t be paying a trainer to sit there while you do cardio.
Our goal is to help you train smarter, build strength, and create a plan you can stick with.
How many times per week do I need to train?
It depends on your goals, schedule, and starting point.
Most people do well training a few times per week, but the best plan is the one you can follow consistently.
During your private visit, we will talk about your goals, your schedule, and what makes the most sense for you. From there, we can recommend the best starting point.
Are 30-minute personal training sessions enough?
Yes, when the workout is planned and coached properly.
A longer workout does not always mean a better workout. Many people waste time because they do not know what to do or they are doing exercises that are not right for them.
At AB Fitness, your 30-minute sessions are focused, coached, and built around the most important work for your goals. You come in, follow the plan, train with purpose, and get on with your day.
Do I have to take pictures or get on the scale?
No, you don’t have to take pictures. At AB Fitness, we want you to focus on building long-term habits that lead to lasting results, not on short-term vanity metrics like the scale or measurements. Our goal is to help you get stronger, healthier, and more confident over time, so your progress is about much more than just a number or a photo.
What is the schedule of the personal training sessions?
AB Fitness offers flexible scheduling with morning and evening sessions during the week, plus Saturday morning availability.
Our sessions are by appointment only. You can use our scheduling system to book and move sessions around when needed.
We know life gets busy, so our goal is to make personal training easier to fit into your schedule.
What happens to my sessions if I need to travel or go on vacation?
If you are going away, let our team know ahead of time.
For shorter trips, we can usually help you adjust your schedule so you stay on track before or after you travel.
For longer trips, speak with our team in advance so we can review your options and help you plan your return.
How much does a personal trainer cost?
To keep it simple, AB Fitness is about $50 per coached personal training session.
The exact option depends on your goals, your schedule, and how often you train. We are month-to-month, with no long-term contracts.
During your private visit, we will talk through your goals, show you the studio, and review the best option for you before you make a decision.
Is there a membership contract?
AB Fitness memberships are month-to-month.
There are no long-term contracts. We believe people should stay because they see value, feel supported, and want to keep getting better.
Fitness results take consistency, but you are not locked into a long-term agreement.
Before anyone joins, we review the schedule, pricing, membership options, and cancellation policy clearly so there are no surprises.
What forms of payments do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and ACH direct debits as well.
We do NOT accept cash payments.
We do NOT take insurance.
