AB Fitness Center is a small Personal Training Studio. We have two locations, one in East Meadow Long Island and Massapequa Long island New York. We have been serving the Long Island area for over 6 years and have helped thousands of other people just like you to get stronger, fitter and healthier without spending hours in the gym! You deserve to experience our world class personal training program. We focus on your form and your safety is our number one concern! We do all of this without crowded classes, fad diets or boring cardio. Our successful, science-backed training methods are based on more than a decade of experience … not trends, fads or fluff.

hOW DOES tHE PERSONAL TRAINING pROGRAM WORK?
You will go over this more in detail on your initial call but a general overview is we will create your program based on your exact needs. We’ll make sure you get into the gym a couple of times a week and we’ll regularly make changes to your program to help you keep progressing. This is why all of our clients have had such great results in half the time because we stay on top of everything.
The website says spots are limited...why is that?
That is true spots are limited to our program. Due to the level of personalization, we only have the capacity to work with a certain amount of clients. Every client gets individual attention. We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach because everyone's body and goals are unique. Our team of certified personal trainers work with you to create a fitness plan for YOUR needs and goals. Because of this, we can NOT work with an overabundance of clients.

Is the personal training 1on1 or Small Group?
At AB Fitness, we offer both 1-on-1 personal training and our signature small group program to cater to your preferences and needs. The small group option is our most popular choice for its convenience in scheduling and attractive price point. With a MAXIMUM of 6 clients to 1 personal trainer in our small group sessions, you are guaranteed ample attention and a motivating community atmosphere. We understand the importance of flexibility, we offer a variety of workout times to ensure you can always find a slot that suits your schedule. While 1-on-1 training is available, it is typically recommended for individuals facing physical limitations or severe injuries. At AB Fitness, your fitness journey is customizable to your unique needs and goals, providing you with the flexibility and support you deserve.
How are MY workouts Tailored to me?
At AB Fitness, we understand that everyone has unique needs and circumstances, which is why we tailor our workouts to each individual. For example, if you wake up with neck pain but still want to get your workout in, simply inform your personal trainer about the issue. They will modify your program on the spot, ensuring you can still train effectively and safely.
Unlike large group or cardio-based programs where modifications are not always possible, our trainers specialize in working around injuries and specific concerns. This personalized approach allows you to continue your fitness journey without interruption, even when faced with physical challenges. Our goal is to provide you with a safe, effective workout that meets your needs, no matter what.

Can i go in AB FITNESS CENTER ON MY OWN AND WORKOUT WITHOUT A TRAINER?
No, AB Fitness Center is not an open regular gym. We specialize in only personal training. Every time you workout at AB Fitness Center a personal trainer will be with you to ensure you are using proper form and keeping yourself safe.
What can I expect from the workouts?
What kind of equipment will I be using?
The only thing that gets you fit for life is muscle. Muscle is the organ of longevity. Muscle is the only thing that keeps you strong...not cardio. You will notice we don’t have any fancy machines or cardio equipment here. We base our workouts around the exercises that utilize the most amount of muscle at once. Your workout will be modified based on what you are capable of doing. Our coaches will never give you something to do that you cannot successfully accomplish while still pushing you to get better every session.
I am afraid of the gym!
Gymtimidation is real. One in two adults are intimidated at the thought of working out at a gym. If you’re one of them...know that you’re not alone. More than half of our members admit to being intimidated before their first workout. You might be afraid others will be watching you…Or that you’ll do something wrong…But our members truly support one another and lift each other up. And our training staff will be there to guide you through the whole thing. It’s a vulnerable situation, where you don’t know what to expect. But I promise you, it’ll be worth it. Are you willing to give it a go? We’ll have your back the whole time.
What if I cant keep up?
There’s no expectation here to compete with anyone other than yourself. Since our sessions are small everyone moves at their own pace and performs the appropriate variations of the exercise so they get the most out of the time they spend with us. We meet you right where you are currently. We will never give you an exercise that you are not ready for physically. We work with all kinds of people here at AB Fitness Center. 70 year old post knee replacement clients, a mom of 3 who wants to lose stomach fat and a total beginner, our personal trainers are skilled to help them all reach their own individual goals, safety and effectively. We have worked with members from 18 years old to 84 years old. And yes you will be lifting more than 5lbs!
I am dealing with an injury is AB Fitness center for me?
This is what makes us special and what really makes us personal training. Unlike other fitness programs out there we can work around any fitness injury. Bad shoulder, knee or back pain? We can find solutions to help your body while strengthening up the weaker areas without pain. We have worked with people recovering from all kinds of surgeries from total knee replacements, frozen shoulders to bad backs, we fit the training to you not the other way around. Most joint pain can be resolved through strategically and intentionally strengthening the muscles and connective tissues around the joint. By increasing your muscles functional strength, you’ll be able to improve the resilience of your joints. And by losing some unwanted fat, you’ll decrease the pressure that your joints absorb through all your daily movement. When done properly with good form, strength training doesn’t get you injured. Being weak gets you injured.
Is this like any other program?
I am happy to say NO! In most other workout programs there could be anywhere from 12-40 people in 1 room with ONLY one coach with a workout program that will not account for how you feel that day. There is no coaching there, no one is watching your form or modifying exercises you cant do. With us you are paying for the attention you need to get the results you are looking at. Here at AB Fitness Personal Training we believe that the coach to client ratio is very important for proper progression and results. Plus most of those workouts are centered around cardio which isnt a long term solution to health and longevity.
Are the PERSONAL TRAIners at ab fitness center certified?
Yes, all of the personal trainers at AB Fitness Center are certified professionals. They have completed extensive education and training in areas such as exercise science, human anatomy, kinesiology, and injury prevention, and are dedicated to providing safe and effective training programs to help you reach your fitness goals. They hold certifications from reputable organizations such as ISSA, NASM, NSCA or ACSM and are required to stay updated with the current training standards and trends. Along with that all coaches must have a bachelors degree as well.
But we don't stop there, as a part of our hiring process, we put all new trainers through a 90-day in-house training program to ensure they understand and can effectively implement our unique methods and approach. Our team is also well-rounded with some of our trainers being nutritionists, they have their degrees in nutrition. Also, our owner Anthony has over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry and he personally trains and oversees every trainer to make sure our clients receive the best guidance and training possible. We also provide weekly staff trainings and encourage our trainers to take continuing education courses to stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in the fitness industry. You can rest assured that you are in good hands with our certified, well-trained, experienced, and well-rounded personal trainers at our gym.

How big is the personal training facility ab fITNESS center?

Will there be cardio?
Chances are, most fitness programs you’ve experienced relied heavily on cardio exercises. Cardio exercises are easier to coach than strength training, and they give the participants the feeling of being sweaty and exhausted … so it feels like they had a great workout. Unfortunately, doing a bunch of random exercises until you’re sweaty and exhausted isn’t training … it’s entertainment. And a dangerous form of it, at that. At AB Fitness, our focus is on getting stronger, improving your flexibility, and supporting healthy joints so we can do all the activities we love without pain as we get older.

How many times a week do I need to come and What should I be doing outside the gym?
It depends on your individual goals, how fast you would like to achieve them, and your schedule but 2-4xs a week is the average time you need to dedicate to your fitness. 3xs a week is ideal because your muscles will need time to recover from training. The goal is to get you maximum results in the least amount of time possible. You shouldn't have to spend hours in the gym just to get in shape.
Are 30 minute Workouts really enough?
Longer workouts dont equal more results. We’ve debunked the myth that more time in the gym equals better results. Our community has found a smarter way to train that helps prevent injuries from over-training and get more results with 30 minutes sessions instead of traditional hour-long gym sessions. Its not the quantity of training but the quality of the work done that matters to get results. Why would you do an hour of fluff when you can do the most important things in half the time
Do I have to Take pictures or get on the scale?
No, you don’t have to take pictures. At AB Fitness, we want you to focus on building long-term habits that lead to lasting results, not on short-term vanity metrics like the scale or measurements. Our goal is to help you get stronger, healthier, and more confident over time, so your progress is about much more than just a number or a photo.
What is the schedule of the personal training sessions?
I dont know anyone who can find time to exercise. We have never had anyone tell us "I have too much free time, I think I'll just spend a few hours in the gym everyday." It's always the opposite: most of us lead busy lives and feel we don't have time for anything new. But in almost all cases, that just isn't true. As much as people would like to think they're too busy to exercise if they broke down and rearranged how they spend every waking minute they could figure it out.
People who have successfully transformed their bodies have the same 24 hours in a day to go to work, enjoy family time, have a social life, and do everything else we have to juggle. Those people simply make those 30 mins of training important enough to be part of their plan.
We offer flexible scheduling with early morning sessions (starting at 6am til 11am) and late night sessions (STARTING AT 4PM AND ending at 8pm). Our sessions are typically 30 minutes and we have a scheduling app so you can control when you come in. We allow you to move your appointments around to fit your life so you can fit fitness into your life! We want to make this possible for you not impossible!

How much does a personal trainer cost?
Personal training can be very expensive. Lets say you went to a big box gym and you tried to hire a personal trainer there. It could run you about $80-$150 per hour! But our programs vary in price depending on what we deem necessary for you based on your goals. We put together a plan for you during our initial Evaluation. During your evaluation we dive down deep into your goals to determine what its going to take to get your results. Our most popular option is 12 sessions a month for $400. We have alot of different options as well.

Is there a membership contract?
Our membership contracts operate on a month-to-month basis, ensuring you have the freedom to choose what works best for you without any long-term commitments. The pricing of your contract is tailored to your individual needs, considering factors such as workout frequency and the addition of nutrition coaching. While we understand the desire for immediate results, achieving lasting changes in fitness requires time and dedication. We recommend a minimum commitment of 6-12 months to fully immerse yourself in the process. Remember, your progress is a journey, and the more you adhere to your program, the more transformative and lasting the results will be.
